Founded in 1861, LAMDA is one of the oldest and most respected Drama Schools in the world.

We are very proud to have Katie-Emma Silverson as part of our Dynamic Team, as a member of The Association of LAMDA Teachers, she has extensive experience and knowledge of supporting pupils through their LAMDA exams celebrating excellent examination results.

LAMDA are the largest speech and drama awarding body and promote the appreciation of literature, poetry and drama.

The exams are beneficial for all children, not just those wishing to pursue a career in performing, as it helps them gain confidence and be able to present themselves to an audience or group of people. Also, if your child continues these exams up to the higher levels (Grade 6, 7 and 8) then the qualification also awards UCAS points for University.

Private lessons are offered alongside the normal Dynamic Classes, where our qualified LAMDA Teacher will spend time getting to know your child, their confidence and ability before deciding on what grade they should take.
They will be given appropriate pieces to perform and will be fully prepared for the exam process.

LAMDA examinations consist of learning by heart and performing a monologue to an examiner. The exams are offered in the following formats:

- Solo (one learner) where the learner performs alone

- Duologue (two learners) where learners performers all scenes together

- Combined (two learners) where the learners perform one sole scene and one duologue

We recommend that anyone taking LAMDA for the first time opts for the Solo exam as it will enable our teacher to get to know the child on an individual basis and ensure that they receive the best coaching possible personally tailored to meet their specific needs /abilities.

The minimum age recommended by LAMDA is 6 years old, if you have a child under 6 who you wish to take an exam, please talk to Katie and she will consider each case individually.
